Australian Traveller readers give the Frog Park the thumbs up!

Readers of Australian Traveller magazine have given BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort the ‘thumbs up’ as the best campsite in Australia. Known affectionately as the “Frog Park’, this tropical oasis is located in Airlie Beach and is a well-known award-winning resort and almost a destination unto itself.

Winner AustTrav Travellers Choice 2013

More than 1100 Australian Traveller magazine readers nominated their all-time favourite travel destinations and experiences throughout the country in a survey comprising twenty categories conducted by the magazine over the past few months. The bi-monthly magazine is the most authoritative, accessible and informative source for Australians committed to travelling and conducts the Reader’s Choice Awards on an annual basis.

Announced at a travel industry lunch in Sydney on Wednesday 4 December, owner Greg McKinnon said, “we are thrilled to win this award for a second year in a row and thank all the readers for taking the time to complete the survey. One of the things we love about our business is that we have such a loyal following of guests who come back to visit us year after year. We are constantly working hard to improve our resort and our activities and it is extremely rewarding to be recognised by the readers of Australian Traveller.”

The McKinnon’s believe the secret to their multi-award winning business includes providing superior customer service, maintaining a focus on the guest, paying attention to the little things and empowering their staff. The McKinnon family will be celebrating 21 years in the business in March 2014 and have won over 30 awards in this time. The family remains totally committed and involved in the day to day management of the business.
