OK, got any questions?

At BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort our motto is “there’s no such thing as a silly question.” So here we’ve recorded the answers to the questions we get asked the most. But if we haven’t answered yours, give us a call and we’ll be only too happy to have a natter and fill you in on all the what, how, who and wheres.


  • Can we have breakfast delivered to our cabin?

    Yes, we have our own yummy Breakfast Hamper packs available for order for during your stay. Please contact the friendly Frogettes on 1800 640 587 or email admin@adventurewhitsunday.com.au at least 2 days (before 7pm Wednesday if you are arriving over the weekend) before you are due to check in.

  • Can we have food delivered to our cabin ready for our arrival?

    Yes, take the stress out of food shopping on the day you arrive and order online before you leave home with Whitsunday Provisioning. They will have the food in your cabin so you can start your holiday the day you arrive!

  • Do I need to bring all of my own baby equipment?

    If you are staying with us in one of our cabins you can hire porta cots and high chairs through us at a one off charge of $5.50 per item. For extra baby equipment such as prams, baby carriers, car seats, playpens, jolly jumps and much, much more please contact Whitsunday Baby Equipment for more details and prices.

  • Do I have to bring linen?

    No, all linen is supplied in the cabins. We do suggest you bring a beach/pool towel. They are also available for hire for a deposit of $20 from reception as another alternative.

  • Is there somewhere I can buy provisions close by?

    Yes, we are located just a short 500m walk (or drive) to Centro Whitsunday Shopping Centre in which there is Woolworths, BIGW and a number of speciality shops. Coles and Target are located within the Whitsunday Shopping Centre approx 2km’s from the resort. Or why not relax when you get here and order Woolworths or Coles online before you leave home! Just ask the Frogettes for further details regarding the arrival of your shopping.

  • Can I bring the children’s bikes and scooters?

    Yes bikes and scooters are welcome within the resort (not near the amenities), we ask that all children wear helmets and they ride at walking pace only. SKATEBOARDS & ROLLER BLADES are not permitted.

  • Do you have any babysitters that you can recommend?

    Yes, we have contacts for some wonderful babysitters who are all local and reliable and come highly recommended.

  • Can we use the facilities after we check-out?

    No unfortunately. Check-out is strictly 10am if you would like to extend your stay with us (subject to availability) fees must be paid at the office by 8am.

  • Can we have visitors?

    Yes, you are more than welcome to have visitors to your site or cabin for the day, all visitors must park their car in the visitors car park. If your visitor intends to use the pool, playground, mini golf etc a DAY USE FEE applies, overnight visitors attract the usual tariffs. All visitors must be registered at Reception.

  • Is There Transport From The Resort?

    We do not have a courtesy bus into Airlie Beach but there is the local bus company ‘Whitsunday Transit’ who operate a service to and from the resort approximately every half an hour to all major local destinations from early morning until late at night. Most day cruises offer a courtesy bus to and from the resort.

  • Can we book cruises once at the Resort?

    Yes we have a fully licensed tour desk and very local knowledgeable staff to help you decide on the tour to suit you and your family. If you are travelling during peak periods and have limited days please contact us prior to your stay so that we can pre-book a tour for you and avoid

  • What is there to do if it rains?

    There is always something to do at BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort and in the Whitsundays come rain, hail or shine. With an average temperature of 24 degrees and winter and 29 degrees in summer and the pool heated/cooled to a comfortable 26 degrees all year through , the rain has no chance of stopping the FUN.   • Is there a restaurant/café onsite?

    We don’t have a restaurant on site but Reef Gateway is just a short stroll across the road from us who sell great pub meals and there are a wonderful selection of restaurants and cafes in Airlie Beach to choose from. Find out more…

  • Do you get mosquitoes & sandflies?

    Mosquitoes are not often found in the Resort, but like most of the Australian East Coast we do have midges (or sandflies). They tend to appear late afternoon or early morning. Prevention is better than cure so we advise that you apply some repellant before you sit outside (we have some great products for sale in the shop).

  • Can I charge back to my room?

    We do not have charge back facilities.

  • Do you accept dogs?

    Strictly NO PETS are allowed within the park as we have resident ducks and possums.

  • How far are you from Airlie Beach?

    We are located approximately 5.2km from the main street of Airlie Beach.

  • How far are you from Shute Harbour?

    We are located approximately 15.3km from Shute Harbour.

  • How far are you to the beach?

    We are located 2.9km’s from Cannonvale Beach.

  • How far is the closest cinema?

    We do have our very own 15 foot outdoor movie screen at the resort – perfect for movies under the stars. There is a cinema located in Proserpine (22.2km’s away) and Bowen (79.5km’s away).

  • Where is the closest shopping centre?

    We are located 550 meters away from Centro Shopping Centre. Find out more…

  • Is the pool heated?

    Yes the pool is heated/cooled all year to a comfortable 26 degrees.

  • Do you provide pool towels?

    Yes we do hire pool towels they are a $20 deposit each, refundable upon return of the towel.

  • Where is the closest airport?

    The closest airport is The Whitsunday Coast Airport (Proserpine) which is a 31.9km’s away.

  • Where are the restaurants located?

    Restaurants are located in Cannonvale and Airlie Beach. Find out more…

  • Is there credit card charges?

    We do not charge a credit card fee.

  • Do you take AMEX?

    We do not accept AMEX or DINERS we accept VISA and MASTERCARD.

  • Can you pay your accommodation off?

    We only require a one night payment as a deposit but you can pay off your accommodation prior to your arrival if you wish.

  • Do you do gift vouchers?

  • Are there heaters in the cabin?

    All of our Luxury Cabins have reverse cyle air-conditioners and our Standard Cabins have oil heaters.

  • Are the cabins fully self contained?

    Yes all of our cabins are fully self-contained.

  • Do you have good TV reception?

    We have Movielink in all of the cabins and generally good TV reception on powered sites.

  • Can you book tours?

    Yes we are a fully licensed Tour Booking Agent and all of our staff are very familiar with all of the tours in the Whitsundays helping to make the perfect choice for you and your family. Find out more…
