BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort makes a splash during Grandparent’s Week in July

BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort brings back the popular Grandparent’s Week event from 1- 8 July 2015 where the focus is on families spending time together and enjoying the quintessential outdoor Australian lifestyle. It’s a time for grandparents to delight in creating quality time with their children and grandchildren. As an added bonus, kids stay free in cabins for the whole school holidays from 26 June to 11 July 2015.

Winter is the perfect time of year for families to make the most of the July school holidays and enjoy the gorgeous Whitsunday weather. Resort owner Naomi McKinnon says, “Grandparent’s Week is all about families reconnecting and kids putting down the computer games, turning off the TV and getting outside to do all the fun things we have done for generations in Australia. Our aim is to create a festive atmosphere and help create a happy holiday everyone will remember.”

With good old-fashioned fun and games and a full schedule of activities that cover multi-generational interests, everyone will find something enjoyable to do. If it’s a bit of carefree relaxation you need, parents can enjoy some time together while Grandma joins the kids on a scavenger hunt and Grandpa’s organising an inter-family tournament on the mini-golf course. Gorgeous, warm sunny days make it a pleasure to relish an outdoor pancake breakfast, lounge by the resort pool or chill out with a blissful hour in the massage pavilion. Perfect balmy nights set the scene for organised social activities including outdoor movies, a Wii Just Dance Disco and the ‘Battle of the Generations’ trivia night.

With over 30 major tourism awards to their name, BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort offers Airlie Beach self-contained accommodation and a host of activities in a 10 hectare tropical oasis. Energetic kids can keep busy during Grandparent’s Week with scavenger hunts, tennis, mini golf or trying one of the many sporting activities available in the resort. For those who enjoy gentler pursuits there are classes in mosaicking, beading, loom banding, painting and biscuit decorating.

There is accommodation to suit all budgets and facilities including a heated lagoon-style swimming pool, water slides, a full-size tennis court, adventure playground, jumping pillows, an impressive 18-hole mini-golf course, outdoor cinema, pedal carts, modern amenities, free BBQs, camp kitchen and wireless internet. BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort offers the best location for a fun, value-packed, memorable Whitsunday family holiday.
