BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort is located just 4km from the town centre of Airlie Beach ... about 5 minutes by car. If you are visiting the area by air, bus or rail then the Whitsunday Transit bus service operates a 1/2 hourly service into the town centre.

Driving into Airlie Beach

Heading North from Mackay on the Bruce Highway, you'll come into Proserpine. About 1km north of Proserpine is the turn off to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays. Follow the signs for approximately 25kms and you'll come into the Airlie Beach area. Keep an eye out for Centro Whitsunday Shopping Centre on the left hand side - we are approximately 250m past this, on the left. Just look for the Big Green Frog!

Heading South from Cairns/Townsville on the Bruce Highway you'll pass through Bowen. About 50kms south of Bowen is the turnoff to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays. You'll travel about 20kms through sugar cane fields before reaching a T-junction. Turn left toward Airlie Beach. Keep an eye out for Centro Whitsunday Shopping Centre on the left hand side - we are approximately 250m past this, on the left. Just look for the Big Green Frog!

Flying into the Whitsundays

The Whitsundays are serviced by two airports...one at Proserpine; the other on Hamilton Island.

From Proserpine when making you accommodation reservation with us enquire about pre-booking your connecting bus ticket directly through to BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort. Taxi services are also available.

From Hamilton Island when making your accommodation reservation with us enquire about pre-booking your ferry and connecting bus ticket which will deliver you directly to BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort. Taxi services are also available.

Arriving by Bus (Greyhound or McCafferty's)

The bus terminal is located in the town centre of Airlie Beach. Taxi is your best option for transfer to BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort. Taxis are located in the middle of the main street opposite McDonalds.

Arriving by Rail

The rail terminal is located 25kms from Airlie Beach in Proserpine. Take the Whitsunday Transit rail transfer service to Airlie Beach - let the driver know that you want BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort and they will drop you at the entrance. Taxi services are also available.
