Easter and chocolate – yummo!

With Easter, naturally comes chocolate. And here at BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, we LOVE chocolate. We love chocolate so much, that in the Easter holidays we are going to be hosting ‘Chocolate Week’!!

Come join us in Airlie Beach for some deliciously decadent chocolatey fun from April 1 – 7, 2017.

To get in the spirit of Easter (and enjoy a little pre-Easter chocolate!), we’ve created an Easter-themed board on Pinterest full of Easter crafts, games, foods, and chocolate recipes…

Bunny footprints

bunny footprintsStart a sweet new Easter tradition to keep the magic of Easter alive. Long after the chocolates have been forgotten, they will remember following a little trail of bunny footprints throughout the house.

You can draw a short track straight from the door to the Easter baskets, or you could have a bit of fun and create a bunny hunt throughout the house, finishing with the eggs hidden in a secret hiding spot!

How to create bunny footprints

– cut out a stencil with a stanley knife

– lay stencil on floor and dust with flour

Alternatively, you could create a footprint with your fingertips alone. Use your thumb for the big pad print, and your index, middle and ring fingers as the three toes.

Showstopper Speckled Egg Cake

Speckled egg cakeThis extravagant looking masterpiece is actually really easy to make! In fact you don’t even have to make the cake, you can use a store bought cake just as easily to save time (and/or your sanity).

You might want to add an extra layer of icing to the cake to make sticking the easter eggs on easier. Speckled, candy coated birds egg chocolates look the most impressive with their pastel speckly appearance.

Place the cake on the presentation plate or stand before decorating. Working in layers, start at the top in the middle and create concentric circles of eggs until you reach the bottom of the cake. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
