The Froggy Express is here!
Families visiting BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort can now hop aboard an exciting new attraction, with the launch of the vibrant and much-anticipated Froggy Express, a custom-built, trackless train designed to delight guests of all ages.
Winding its way through the resort’s lush tropical grounds, the Froggy Express offers a relaxing and immersive way to explore, giving guests a unique perspective of the property while enjoying fresh air, fun sounds and cheerful onboard music. Each journey completes two laps of the resort and runs for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, making it the perfect activity for families looking to sit back and enjoy the surroundings together.
Custom-designed specifically for the resort, the train features four colourful carriages and can carry up to 21 guests per ride. Importantly, the Froggy Express has been designed with accessibility in mind and is able to accommodate guests using wheelchairs, ensuring more families can enjoy the experience together. Built with safety as a priority, the train includes features such as childproof locks and operates under strict safety protocols.
Owner Greg McKinnon said the introduction of the Froggy Express reflects the resort’s ongoing commitment to creating memorable, inclusive experiences for families.
“As a Queensland family-owned and operated resort, everything we invest in is about enhancing the experience for our guests and creating those simple, shared holiday moments families remember,” Mr McKinnon said.
“We’re not a big corporate, we’re a Queensland family business that’s grown from the ground up, and every decision we make is about creating genuine experiences for our guests.
“The Froggy Express is a fun, accessible way for guests of all ages to explore the resort together, slow things down and really enjoy their surroundings. It’s these kinds of experiences that have been at the heart of our business since we first started more than 30 years ago.
The addition of the Froggy Express represents a continued investment in the guest experience at the family-owned resort, which has grown from humble beginnings into one of Queensland’s most recognised and loved holiday destinations over the past three decades.
Behind the scenes, significant planning has gone into bringing the experience to life, including the construction of a dedicated train shed to house the Froggy Express. The space has been transformed into a feature in its own right, showcasing a striking mural by talented North Queensland artist Katie-Louise Bigg, adding a creative and local touch to the attraction.
Operating seasonally and subject to weather conditions, the Froggy Express runs throughout the day, with bookings essential. Whether it’s little ones enjoying their first “train ride” or families taking a moment to slow down and explore together, the Froggy Express is set to become a highlight of the BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort experience.
