I have many years of experience in both admin and the travel industry and even more as a happy Whitsunday local. BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort offers a base where students can learn and have fun at the same time! Stay onsite and enjoy hours of endless entertainment or venture out to experience some of the Whitsundays’ best destinations, including Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef.

BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort offers an extensive range of onsite activities including our big, huge, mega waterslide park, Airlie Beach’s largest resort pool (heated in winter), 18 hole mini golf, tennis and basketball courts, outdoor movies and much more. We can also organise a range of fun group activities!

Become a Marine Biologist for the day!

We’ve partnered with our friends at multi award-winning Ocean Rafting to offer our school groups the opportunity to become a Marine Biologist for the day with their Reef Seeker educational adventure.

Students and teachers can join Ocean Rafting’s Eco Hosts, Master Reef Guides and Marine Biologists on an interpretive and hands-on guide to the Ecological, Biological, Cultural and Geological beauties of the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef.

With personalised guided snorkelling tours, students will have the opportunity to collect valuable data and learn about key species, reef threats and the vast diversity of the Great Barrier Reef, with your findings contributing to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park authority’s monitoring program, ‘Eye on the Reef’.

Visit Hill Inlet and Whitehaven Beach with a guided and informative bushwalk from the mangrove shallows, to the iconic lookouts over the famous swirling sands of Hill Inlet.  With a focus on education, learning and an interactive question and answer session, this inspiring and hands-on tour is perfect for any reef enthusiast to get a real taste of being a Marine Biologist and Eco-Warrior for the day!

Be sure to remember the Queensland Government’s subsidy of up to $150 for eligible students to visit the Great Barrier Reef….perfect to package with accommodation with us in order to access the subsidy!  All primary and secondary Queensland schools can apply, applicable for bookings until June 2024. Time out is always available

Did you know that we offer our very special ‘Reilly Room’, an onsite sensory room, which caters to children on the autism spectrum and available free of charge for students to access at any time during their stay.

For students who would like access to ‘The Reilly Room’ during their stay, it is accessible with a key which you may keep for the duration of your stay to use as needed. The facility is set up for use by one student/teacher at a time for the comfort and benefit of the user. An ‘occupied’ sign highlights when the room is being used so whoever is ‘settling’ will not be interrupted.
