    Waterslide Park and Pools

Adding to the joyful soundscape is the laughter of children ringing out from the gigantic waterslide park and huge lagoon pool. The diverse range of 13 colourful slides make this one of the largest resort Waterslide Parks in Australia, taking family fun to the next level. Built especially for young families, the slides come off a two-metre-high platform and are linked by bridges and stairways. The area of the Waterslide Park is equivalent to an Olympic swimming pool and features vibrant slides in a tangled rainbow of red, blue, yellow, orange and green. A massive tipping bucket sits at one end of the park and there are fun smaller features for toddlers in the shape of a frog and octopus. Panels around the slides feature artwork of Gavin the resort frog mascot, adding an extra splash of colour and fun. Luxurious sun loungers are positioned nearby for parents to relax and soak in some sunshine while the kids splash and play the day away.

The massive 32-metre lagoon pool is located adjacent to the Waterslide Park. It’s the perfect place to take a refreshing dip after a busy day exploring the spectacular Whitsundays.

    Animal Park

BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort is also the only holiday park in North Queensland boasting its very own on-site Animal Park.

Come and visit the sweet menagerie of cute, cuddly creatures, including baby calves, goats, lambs, ducks and chickens. These kid-friendly barnyard babies love to be patted by in-house guests, while roaming around their 3.5-acre parkland. Get up close and personal as you stroke their fur or feathers at feeding time – a free activity for all resort guests. Please check with reception or the Activities Guide for feeding times during your stay, as days do vary. Enclosed footwear is required, and children under 12 years of age must be supervised by an adult. Bookings for feeding sessions are essential.

This immersive animal experience is a wonderful and gentle way to encourage outdoor fun for kids of all ages and abilities. Learn the animal’s names, and discover more about how your new farmyard friends live and grow. The Animal Park is a firm family favourite, with many guests choosing to return regularly during their visit for a daily dose of cuteness.

    Mini Golf

Challenge your family and friends to a round of mini golf amidst the palms. The 18-hole course is one of the resort’s most popular facilities. The floodlit course is nestled within a tropical landscape of greenery and watering holes, offering a fun and relaxed activity for all ages. Put your putting skills to the test as you battle it out for mini-golf glory! But be warned, it’s not always the best golfer who wins. Golf putters are available for hire and froggy golf balls and score cards are available for purchase from reception.

    Outdoor Cinema

As the sun sets on another perfect day in paradise, star-filled skies provide an idyllic backdrop to outdoor cinema sessions for children and adults. The huge 15-foot cinema screen springs to life with alfresco entertainment three times a week during term time, and nightly during school holidays. Sit back, relax and chill out in the warm evening air as action-packed blockbusters or classic family favourites roll on the big screen. Titles and times vary from week to week and are published in the Weekly Activity Guide.

    Kid’s Club and Activities

The Kid’s Club is an enchanting option for children who love to get crafty. Let their creative spirits soar to new heights in a space where they’re free to express their talents, as well as make a mess and meet plenty of new friends too. Best of all, mum or dad don’t have to clean up the creative chaos! Kids from 4 to 12 years will love the exciting line-up of artistic activities. Kids can create hand-made treasures to take home with them, while parents enjoy some peaceful adult time-out, perhaps indulging in a relaxing poolside massage.

Kids Club is offered every Saturday, and three times per week during school holidays. Additional fees apply for this activity, and bookings are essential. Registration forms need to be completed at reception, and children must be signed in and out of Kids Club by a parent.

Toddler Time is a special session offered for tiny tots under five years of age. Parents are required to stay and supervise this session. Fun and full of energy, this program offers a great way for adults and children alike to connect and socialise with other young families at the resort.

    Other Resort Facilities

Other sporting facilities include a full-sized, floodlit tennis court, basketball hoop and badminton court. Nearby, a huge children’s playground is sure to keep the kids entertained, with swings, slides and climbing frames.

Little Vintage Café and Dining Options

Feeling peckish after all your adventures?

Little Vintage Cafe is located onsite at the resort, close to the pool and waterslide park entrance.  It offers a delicious menu, including a range of healthy breakfast options, salads, sandwiches, burgers and much more. There’s also barista-made coffee, soft drinks and refreshing fruit smoothies to keep you fuelled for a fun-filled day of play. Pre-order and takeaway options are also available.

    Autism Sensory Room

They are proud to be one of the first holiday parks in Australia to offer a state-of-the-art Sensory Room. ‘The Reilly Room’ offers a relaxing retreat for children on the autism spectrum and their families. This thoughtfully designed space features all the facilities you’d expect to find in an autism specific education setting, including a free-standing hammock to rock in, and a large crash mat and weighted blankets or cushions for children who are soothed by pressure. A lamp projects lovely blue ocean waves on the ceiling and a music player provides calming music to soothe the rawest of nerves. There is a collection of cushions providing a variety of tactile experiences, a ‘Bilbo’ to rock or spin a child in, a peanut-shaped gym ball to bounce on, and a large timer clock. The room also has a sensory toy box full of motivating toys to fascinate and calm children.

The Bicentennial Walkway is a great way to enjoy the spectacular views of the Whitsunday waters along its coastline, a 4 kilometre long (or 8km round trip) waterfront walk showcasing the wonderful coastal views off Airlie Beach. With plenty of parking available along the boardwalk, this gorgeous walkway is accessible for all ages and abilities and stretches from the sands of Cannonvale Beach through to Airlie Beach’s lagoon.

It’s a very well planned and maintained walk that both locals and visitors enjoy, offering wonderful outlooks both to the open water, and of Coral Sea Marina at around the halfway point, along with its many extravagant yachts and other vessels.

The walk features several cafes, restaurants and bars along the way that make for good spots for a bite to eat or drop to drink, while you will also have the opportunity to spot marine life such as fish and turtles by gazing down into the water as the pathway follows the waterline throughout almost the entire walk.
Concrete paths and boardwalks makes it accessible to beaches, Marinas, local cafes and restaurants along the way.

    Airlie Beach Lagoon

The Airlie Beach Lagoon has easy access into the water with an accessible bathroom and liberty swing within close distance of each other.
