BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort wins Whitsunday Tourism Award

BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort is celebrating winning for the 18th time in the 2013 Whitsunday Tourism Awards on Saturday 19 October. They were also inducted into the “Hall of Fame” for winning the category for three consecutive years. This was the first award ceremony for the season and leads into the Queensland and Australian Tourism Awards in the coming months.

The multi-award winning resort scooped all levels of awards last year, winning on the local, state and national platforms. Rather than rest on its laurels, the resort is constantly striving to enhance its facilities and services. BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort has seen significant growth in 2013 and has just begun an exciting phase of development with a new multi-purpose conference facility, The Palm House. The resort is forever evolving and growing to meet the demands of many different markets.

The McKinnon FamilyGreg and Naomi McKinnon attended the Whitsunday award ceremony with their three children and were delighted to again accept the award for “Tourist and Caravan Parks”. Naomi McKinnon said, “it is valuable to be judged by your industry peers and to get together and celebrate with all the other local operators who strive daily to achieve best practice and who work hard to ensure people visiting the Whitsundays have a wonderful experience. We take the business of pleasing people very seriously and I believe it is largely due to our professional staff and the level of service they offer that allows us to deliver such a fantastic holiday experience.”

Naomi went on to say, “we are so proud of our wonderful product, the hard work we have done, how far we have come and the awards we have won in that time. Valuing our team is an important part of our success and I would like to publicly thank them all for delivering an exceptional experience every day of the year. This year is particularly special for us as it is 20 years since the McKinnon family bought the park. We have our three beautiful children with us tonight, the third generation of McKinnon’s, to accept the award.”
