Notes:
• In keeping with the “botanic-like” gardens of BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort some 250 tonnes of rock have been used to build the garden at The Palm House which includes over 60 varieties of exotic palms and 54 varieties of exotic bromeliads. All the bromeliads and most of the palms were seeded onsite at the resort’s nursery. Some exotic palms were also sourced from Babinda and Mission Beach in Queensland.
• The space where The Palm House is erected has had many prior uses including a horse paddock, veggie garden, swimming pool, soccer pitch and a chook pen. Plenty of ideas have sprouted from this patch and we imagine plenty more will be developed in the future!
