The Whitsundays’ newest function and event centre
Saturday 30th August 2014 marked the official opening of a labour of love for BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort owners Naomi and Greg McKinnon. The Palm House is Airlie Beach’s newest function centre, wedding and event venue and conference room, and will be launched to the public at a gala dinner.
The Palm House, situated on the Whitsunday Coast of Queensland, will be one of the largest function centres on the mainland. Suitable for theatre-style or cocktail functions of up to 250 guests, the room can also be divided into three smaller rooms for up to 100 guests each. The rooms can be configured to suit all types of meetings and business events. From classroom style, boardroom layout, to a gala dinner, the Palm House is very flexible, just like its namesake, the palm tree.
With a host of modern facilities more than up to the standard of any capital city event venue, the Palm House is proud to stand tall. The Palm House is full service venue with exacting standards and brilliant staff. A large commercial kitchen allows for on-site catering and there is also the serene Palm Pavilion which can be utilised for wedding ceremonies, break out areas and cocktail functions.
The almost botanic-like gardens have been busily planted over the last few months, and are full of palms, ferns, cycads, bromeliads, and many unique tropical species.
Open Week – 2-5 September 2014
Following the gala opening, the Palm House at BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, was open to the public for an ‘Open Week’. Visitors and locals are invited to inspect this new event venue which will be set up to showcase different types of functions. Visitors were able to pop in every afternoon between 2-5pm to view different set ups and to see how flexible the space is for meetings, corporate events, weddings, birthday parties and other special events, with the venue’s dedicated Group and Events team on hand to discuss various function options.

The Palm House was open for inspection from Tuesday 2nd to Friday 5th September 2014, from 2-5pm.
